It can be very expensive to create a secure environment large enough to store the company’s growing amount of data. Using a data centre to store data means that you do not need to invest in physical hardware, and can just rent the required space.
As data centre’s are storing such large amounts of data, it is their job to keep the data safe and secure. This means they have the most complex and multi-faceted security policies. As the data is stored in the cloud, if the company’s server were to corrupt or fail, the data is stored safely and can be easily restored.
If your company were to lose access to the building through flooding or fire the data can still easily be access remotely. With company’s data being so important, it is almost imperative that some form of off site back is done.
