Splicecom was formed in 2001 with the specific intention to design a networkable and scalable telephone system for the 21st Century. The maximiser IP PBX system was designed around an IP architecture given the direction of the market in 2001. This strategy was re-enforced by BT's subsequent decision to convert its entire network to IP by 2010. The benefits of a true IP system are now becoming clear, often being highlighted by the limitations of traditional and hybrid technologies.
The Company was founded on private investment and has no bank borrowing or venture capital. This robust financial platform has enabled SpliceCom to make sound strategic decisions on the growth and direction of the business. For the past three years the business has grown in size whilst continuing to invest heavily in development of both hardware and software. Examples of Splicecom's recent developments include:
- World's slimmest range of IP handsets with colour screens and Gigabit variant.
- Focus on power consumption with IP handset screens dimming when idle and blanking completely out of hours.
- Enhanced Operator Console Software including touchscreen version.
- Unified Communications solutions for Microsoft through integration with Office Communication Server 2007 Release 2 and Apple via iChat, Mail and Address Book.
- Native SIP trunk connectivity – no external gateways required.
